A 17-year old teenager named Julio Macias Gonzales from Mexico City was having dinner with his family when he started having convulsions uncontrollably. The paramedics were called but Julio couldn't be saved and died at the scene.
According to the doctors, the 'hickey' or 'love bite' his girlfriend has given him at the night before has caused a blood clot that travelled to his brain.
A love bite, or a hickey, occurs when a person sucks on a small area of skin of (hopefully) their romantic partner, causing tiny blood vessels to burst and resulting in a bruise on the skin.
It’s being claimed that the suction from the ‘hickey’ was the cause of the clot which travelled to his brain, triggering a stroke.
Julio’s love bite might have occurred over a major artery, which would explain why the blood clot occurred.
Julio's unnamed girlfriend is now hiding, with fears that she may be held liable for her boyfriend's death.
