Philippine bet Maxine Medina was the first contestant among the Top 6 to be called in the competition's critical question-and-answer round. Audiences were surprised when an interpreter translated the question to Filipino but Maxine still chose to answer in English. But after the Q&A round, the top 3 were announced -- Miss Colombia, Miss France and Miss Haiti -- sealing Maxine's top finish.
This time, former Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach took time to comfort Maxine Medina who lost to Miss France's Iris Mittenaere during the 65th Miss Universe Grand Coronation event on Monday, January 30.
A photo posted by Jonas Gaffud, pageant mentor of Aces and Queens showed Pia hugging Maxine during the grand coronation event at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.
