Bruno Mars is one of the popular singers in the world and the "24K Magic" hitmaker. He is a half-Filipino, half-Puerto Rican born as Peter Gene Hernandez to Puerto Rican father Pedrito Hernandez and Filipina mother Bernadette San Pedro Bayot. He was one of his mom's six children.

Bruno grew up in a very musical family. His dad was a Latin percussionist from Brooklyn, and his mom was a singer.
His mother was his inspiration and his source of strength but she died from a brain aneurysm back in 2013. Bruno admitted that he will gladly trade away his fame if he could be with his Pinay mom again.
According to Bruno: “She’s more than my music. If I could trade music to have her back, I would. I always hear her say, ‘Keep going and keep doing it.”
Bruno did not let mom's passing bring him down, tweeting some days later: “So thankful for all the love during the most difficult time in my life. I’ll be back on my feet again soon. That’s what mom wants, she told me.”
“You just gotta know that she’s with me everywhere I go. It’s something that you can’t imagine—the pain and the things that you keep going back to: ‘I wish I would’ve done this or said this.’ You just have to see life differently. It shows you the real importance of life. Nothing else matters in this world but family and your loved ones,” the singer added.
Bruno Mars rose to success back in 2010 after his hit song 'Just The Way You Are' made it to the top of the worldwide music charts. In 2011, He then won the Grammy Award for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance, his first Grammy.
