 Miss Universe Philippines 2024 candidate Mary Josephine Paaske from Talisay City, Cebu, has captured the hearts of netizens as she proudly showcased her family's humble abode.

In a recent post on social media, Paaske opened up about her upbringing, debunking assumptions about her background despite being biracial. Contrary to popular belief, she revealed that her family leads a simple life, even amidst the challenges they faced.

Born in Denmark to a Danish father and a Filipino mother, Paaske's family eventually settled in Midsayap, Cotabato, Philippines, in 2013. Despite the move, she remained resilient and actively pursued her passions, including modeling and playing futsal.

Her journey in pageantry began to unfold, with notable participations in various competitions such as Miss Bikini Philippines 2021 and Miss CosmoWorld Philippines 2023. However, it was her recent stint in Miss Universe Cebu 2024 where she garnered attention, securing the title of Miss Universe Cebu-Heritage 2024.

Paaske's dedication and perseverance led her to represent Talisay in the prestigious Miss Universe Philippines 2024 pageant. During her journey, she didn't shy away from sharing her personal struggles, particularly her father's mental health challenges, which compelled her to become the family's breadwinner at a young age.

Despite the hardships, Paaske emphasized the strength and unity found within their household. She expressed gratitude for the lessons learned and the resilience fostered in their modest home, which has shaped her into the empowered woman she is today.

“Currently, our house is made of light marterials. It’s not lavish but I have many stories to tell from our house that has empowered me as a woman now. We share it with our extended family, finding comfort and support together amidst adversities,” Paaske shared.

As Paaske continues her journey towards the Miss Universe crown, her story serves as an inspiring testament to resilience, determination, and the enduring power of home and family amidst life's challenges.
