Suspect in Quiapo Road Rage Slay Was Caught and Arrested by the Police in Masbate


Vhon Tanto, a road rage shooter in Quiapo was captured and arrested by the Philippine National Police (PNP) in Masbate on Friday. He was arrested at 11:40 a.m. in East Milagros, according to Army chief Lt. Gen. Eduardo Ano, with combined elements of the Army's Intelligence and Security Group 9th Infantry Division and local police.


Tanto is the suspect in killing of a bicycle rider named Mark Vincent Geralde during an altercation along P.Casal Street on Monday night.


Tanto, an Army reservist, is assigned with the 1301st Community Defense Center, NCR Community Defense Group of the Army Reserve Command based in Caloocan City. He was positively identified by witnesses through the pictures on his social media account. The Hyundai Eon seen on the CCTV footage of the incident was traced to him through its conduction sticker.

He is wanted 'dead or alive' according to Manila Police District (MPD). According to the policemen, Tanto was armed and dangerous since he owns three firearms.
